Ellis Bridals love hearing back from our brides, there is nothing more gratifying than seeing the pure joy and happiness that our Ellis Bridals wedding dresses get to be a part of. Recent bride, Jennifer, got in touch to tell us about her special day in her Ellis Bridals lace ballgown. This exceptional Ellis ballgown benefits from a statement high-neck and long delicate lace sleeves. Cross-seasonal and luxurious, this is the style for the bride looking for a touch of vintage with a structured simplicity that is truly modern, gifting a perfectly feminine silhouette.

When and where did you meet your husband?
I met my husband 2 years ago at a speed dating event
How did you know he was the one?
I didn’t, but he made me laugh when we first met.
How did he propose?
In my kitchen before my family woke up, not the most romantic setting but I did ruin a surprise proposal by looking at the last page of a flip book which he designed (I didn’t flip it through).
When and where did the big day take place?
1st December 2018 at the Old Marylebone Town Hall
When did you start planning?
A month after the engagement.
Where did you get your dress?
I got my dress from London Bride UK, a stockist of Ellis Bridals.
Is that the sort of dress you thought you would go for or was it a surprise?
I imagined myself wearing a dress with long sleeves but it was a challenging and stressful moment, but at the end I really liked the dress I bought.
Who came dress shopping with you?
My sister, who was also my bridesmaid and friend of mine.
Where did you get your bridesmaid dresses?
Oasis.
What style of maids and groomsmen did you go for?
Simple and elegant.
How did you arrive at the ceremony?
In a Rolls Royce.
Did you have anything unusual during the ceremony?
My husband got really emotional during the vows and it was an unusual thing to see from him.
How did you accessorise to make your wedding day look unique?
As we had a Chinese banquet, we tried to make it look as traditional as we could but with a modern twist by having a photo booth in the restaurant as well.
What was the inspiration or colour theme for your wedding?
We went with the traditional Chinese wedding theme which was mostly red in favour of our parents and the older generation.
What kind of food did you have? Cake?
We had a 13 course Chinese banquet and we went with a traditional 4 tier Marks and Spencer’s chocolate wedding cake.
What tips do you have for new brides picking their wedding dress?
Never rush into putting a deposit on a dress unless you are 100% sure that it’s the one, I made a mistake by doing that and losing the deposit before I found my dream dress from Ellis Bridals.
Where were your photos taken?
At Regents Park.
What was your favourite moment from the day?
The whole day was good, but the most memorable part for me was me and my husband reading our vows, it was a very emotional and memorable moment for both of us and our families.
